Love is in the Air

I Choose Love, how ’bout you?

pretty-heartOkay, so I know it’s a bit early to start going all ‘lovey dovey’ on you - as that glorious February 14th date is still a bit far off. But hey, guess what? Valentine’s Day isn’t the only day that there’s room in the air - or, in the blogosphere for that matter -  for love to float around. And thank goodness for that…or 364 days of the year would be bad news bears.

Anywho, a special thanks to Stephanie Miller of livelighter for introducing Daily Challenge to I Choose Love, an inspirational video that simply begs the rhetorical question, “I choose love. What do you choose?”  As I watched it, I felt lulled into a sense of humbled self-reflection. Yes, this video provides its viewers with a refreshing and motivating perspective on the world - helping us to, well…choose to love in the midst of what can seem like a crazy, mixed-up life at times. Definitely a message worth spreading 365 days a year.

If you’re looking for something to propel you through that ‘hump day’ afternoon lull at the office, I highly suggest that you check out this video or pay a visit to the I Choose Love website to learn more about this thought-provoking movement.

Enjoy - and keep checkin’ in for more good news from the Do Gooder Daily! Cheers to loveeeeee!

I just found this post and I enjoyed it a lot. I’d like to propose that one act of love that everyone can do is to make the decision to be an organ donor. Over 100,000 people in the US alone are waiting for an organ. There would be no wait list if everyone who was eligible to be a donor had made the decision to do so in advance of their death.

On Feb 14, 2010 I will be starting my journey to climb Mt Kilimanjaro to mark the 15th anniversary of my liver transplant. Somebody, whose name I still do not know, had chosen love.

Be a hero, be a donor

Cheers to love, Daily Challenge! Thanks for sharing the video and song.

@Dara Good luck on Mt Kilimanjaro. BTW, I’ve been a donor since I first got my driver’s license, 16 years ago. :)

Who could ever choose anything BUT LOVE???
Dara, your proposal is an EXCELLENT and meaningful one!! Especially as you are a recipient of this wonderful program which is now making it possible for you ~ not only to LIVE ~ but to CLIMB A MOUNTAIN 15 years later!!! How AWESOME is THAT?? While most of us cannot expect to accomplish such a feat, being an Organ Donor is something almost everybody CAN do!! So why not? I commend you Stephanie, and everyone who says YES on their driver’s license. Make sure you tell your family to respect your wishes, as the law still allows THEIR decision to take precedence over yours. For those who are healthy, with no contrary religious beliefs ~ it is a selfless act of love which saves lives! And who knows when one of us could end up on a waiting list someday? Haven’t we all spent enough time WAITING? Do we have to wait for life too? Or even worse ~ death? I choose LOVE ~ and LIFE!
