Only 2 more days until Twestival! If you still need a little persuasion to come party at this amazing charity event for a good cause, maybe Jennifer Connelly can convince you?
Last Thursday, we announced that a few good people on Twitter decided to leverage the power of their social network to create social change. The end result is Twestival, a major fund-raising event being held in over 175 cities across the globe to help bring clean water to people in developing countries.
Here is a 1:30 minute video of Scott Harrison, founder of charity: water, thanking Twestival for their support:
This was definitely my favorite challenge thus far. It was also the most emotional challenge. We were able to feed 22 homeless people throughout the street of Toronto within a matter of 90 mins and with less than $45.00!
Many were appreciative, some shocked and a few people were almost embarrassed. I think I can speak for all of the Daily Challenge team in saying this challenge made us realize just how lucky we all are for having a roof over our heads and food on our plates.
It is amazing how a slight change in perspective can open your eyes to an entirely new reality.
I know for me personally sometimes I can get so caught up in life that I almost forget to truly LIVE.
We’re starting to get into the habit of making Fridays at Daily Challenge “extreme challenge day”, and this past Friday was no different! Yesterday, I got the opportunity to challenge the world to:
Walk down the street with a sign that says, `Donate a High Five’
And because we like to think that ‘the walk’ is just as important as ‘the talk’, we set out on the streets of King West on a beautiful (though somewhat chilly) Friday afternoon to warm the hearts of Torontonians with high fives.
This was due to the fact that we have never gotten so much slack for a challenge before. Yes we realize it is the middle of November and this challenge was probably much better suited for August, but Do Gooders are a bit crazy anyways and can have fun doing any challenge.
Hope you enjoy the video!
P.S. This is obviously not a professional production so my apologize for the poor quality.
It’s been a while since Daily Challenge has been up and running, and as time goes on we keep adding more and more features to the site. So, as we continue to grow, we thought it would be a good idea to release some screencasts (or video tutorials) to help you get acquainted with how things work. The screencasts also aim to help new Do Gooders find their way around - a 2 minute Daily Challenge crash course, if you will.
I’ll try to release a few of these periodically, but for now, here are two new screencasts that cover some of the basic activities you can expect to be engaged in on Daily Challenge.
Your feedback is welcome! These are the first two screencasts I’ve ever done, so be kind.
Enjoy!

PS - Sorry for the quality of the videos! I assure you they looked a lot crisper before YouTube’s compression.
Google is giving away $2M each to 5 world-changing ideas in their Project 10 to the 100th contest. We think Daily Challenge has the potential to positively impact the world so it made sense to enter!

If it inspires you:
Pass it on to your friends!
Go to YouTube and comment on it (let’s get Google’s attention!)
So you want to join Daily Challenge but you’re unsure of the reaction you’ll get when you try do something nice for someone. Will they even believe you when you say you don’t want anything in return?
For this reason, we went undercover to film one of our members performing a Daily Challenge. Here’s a 2 minute video of Jon Carlo completing the challenge, “Buy the person behind you in line their coffee”:
You’re here so you must’ve heard about Daily Challenge. But what’s the story with this new social networking site?
Simply put: Daily Challenge is gathering Do Gooders around the planet and mobilizing them to Do One Good, Daily.
The point: to empower YOU, the individual. One simple act of kindness by one person may not make much of a difference, but multiply that act of kindness by 100 or 10,000 and you’ll have a huge impact. You might even say that you’ve helped change the world!
