I like this... I worry too much about what others think of me, and sometimes I am not myself. I will take action and be ME more... and continue to act with integrity! Thanks for sharing this Lucy!

This is the best challenge I've seen yet. So many people strive to 'fit in' or 'be accepted'. Being yourself is the only thing that really matters at the end of the day, and I think people will appreciate you more for it. GREAT post :)

Great challenge! Amazing synchronicity as I just posted an article on my blog called Be Yourself! See: http://motivatorman.blogspot.com/2009/04/tip251-be-yourself-fanboys.html

That's a tough one. When you are young it is natural to be yourself. Dance, sing, cry ..... I'm looking for "myself". I hope I realize my true self again. Thank you!

I so relate to this challenge today. In my quest to "become" the empty-nest independent single woman, I'm inadvertently stepping on the toes of my adult children. I'm quite sure (no, I'm positive) that they don't accept the changes that are going on in my life, but I have to push on.

We have two choices in life on this 1) because we don't understand ourselves or other, we don't love and accept ourselves or others or 2) to love and accept ourselves and others even though we don't always understand ourselves or others

This is the reason why some people loves me very much while others hates me. I always strive to be myself.

After so many years of trying to please others, and acting the way others wanted me to. I finally feel comfortable enough with myself to say this is the way it is, if you don't like it, too bad. Excellent challenge.

A most excellent challenge to be certain far too often we find ourselves subverting our true selves in order to be accepted, whether that be at work or socially. One face to make this group like us, and another to make another group like us, and so on to the point where we lost sight of our true nature. Why do we do this? Because we do not love and accept who we are first and then seek to find others who will also love and accept us for that.

Hi Mary;
My challenge is for you to always remember that your the parent,what your children do or don't approve of is of no concern. If you are being safe, have good integrity,and remain a good person.And remember Jesus is the only one you need to answer too.You are fine .Don't Worry,Be Happy.Our children seem to forget that. Don't be afraid to put them in their place, when they step on YOUR toes . ;}

Yeah! I like the challenge and I concur most with what others share along this line. There were times my colleagues and others don't seem to like and agree with some of the things I say and do. The fact always remain, I have always wanted to be myself..the original me, I am unique, despite whatever comes up..

Awesome challenge... this should be a life time challenge not only for a day... can't imagine what the world would be if every one of us just learn to be ourselves, Hypocrisy would be out of table for sure!

Good challenge! and being yourself is something i try to do. At my age, i've decided it doesn't matter if I am not accepted by all people as long as I'm accepted by the ones who love me and I love them.
